Matthew Hallas, DMDMatthew Hallas, DMD, joined Bay Lakes Center for Complex Dentistry after several years working with University Associates in Dentistry in Chicago, Illinois. His extensive training in the specialty of prosthodontics gives him advanced skills and knowledge of the latest technologies and utilization of dental materials including all ceramic restorations, CAD-CAM restorations, and computer guided implant surgery. Additionally, Dr. Hallas is an active lecturer for dental study groups and continuing education programs, which keeps him on the leading edge of new developments in the field of prosthodontics. "With a father who was a medical school professor, I knew from a young age I wanted to work in the medical field. By high school, I considered orthopedic surgery, but by the time I started college, I had decided on dentistry. What I love about dentistry in general and prosthodontics in particular is that there is no case I can't restore. My education and training have given me the expertise and tools I need to create real solutions. So when a patient comes to me with a challenging dental problem, I have the pleasure of telling him or her I can help. I can see the case through from start to finish. And there is nothing better than seeing patients who have never been comfortable showing their teeth before start smiling when our work is complete! I realize that dental work is something most people don't enjoy, so I try hard to help my patients relax. I purposely don't schedule appointments close together so I can spend as much time with my patients as they need, talking about their concerns and making them comfortable. If given the opening, I'll talk about my love of fly fishing. When I'm not in the office or lecturing, it's a good bet you might find me on the fishing stream."
